Malta – Im Rahmen des EPT Malta Festivals wurden am Mittwochabend die European Poker Awards 2014 verliehen. Aus deutscher Sicht besonders erfreulich sind der Player of the Year Award für Ole Schemion und der Poker’s Best Ambassador Award für George Danzer. Danzer war auch als Breakout Player of the Year nominiert, musste sich aber dem Engländer Jack Salter geschlagen geben.
Der Award für Charitable Initiative of the Year ging an REG charity, welche von Philipp Gruissem, Igor Kurganov und Liv Boeree gegründet wurde.
King’s Casino Besitzer Leon Tsoukernik konnte sich den Award für die Industry Person of the Year sichern.
