Der Streamer, der vielen auch noch aus \u201eBig Brother Canada\u201c bekannt ist, kombiniert darin Kartenspiel, Realityshow und soziale Strategieelemente.<\/p><p>Im Mittelpunkt steht zwar weiterhin Poker, doch die Teilnehmer m\u00fcssen deutlich mehr k\u00f6nnen, als nur gute H\u00e4nde spielen. B\u00fcndnisse, psychologischer Druck und taktische Entscheidungen au\u00dferhalb des eigentlichen Spiels geh\u00f6ren ebenfalls zum Konzept der Show. Genau dieser Mix soll laut Martin auch Zuschauer ansprechen, die sonst wenig Interesse an Poker haben.<\/p><p>Produziert wird \u201ePoker Wars\u201c in Calgary in Kanada. Kevin Martin erkl\u00e4rte au\u00dferdem, dass er das Projekt selbst finanziert habe. Seine Verbindung zu GGPoker bleibt dennoch sichtbar, da der Kanadier weiterhin als Ambassador f\u00fcr die Plattform t\u00e4tig ist.<\/p><p>Sechs Teilnehmer k\u00e4mpfen in der ersten Staffel um den Sieg. Die Besetzung setzt sich aus Spielern mit ganz unterschiedlichen Hintergr\u00fcnden zusammen. Mit dabei sind Jon Pardy, Abby Merk, Jake Straus, Haven Taylor, Kiero sowie Wildcard Ali aus der KMart-Community.<\/p><p>Das Format wurde sowohl live gestreamt als auch zus\u00e4tzlich f\u00fcr eine TV-\u00e4hnliche Version zusammengeschnitten. Gespielt wird im Eliminierungsstil, bis am Ende nur noch ein Spieler \u00fcbrig bleibt.
